Both–and.

Always.

Our systemic stance, what we mean by it, and what our process framework for real co-creation in change processes looks like.

Our position

Organizations are

not machines.

They are living systems full of relationships, feedback loops, and unspoken rules. They react. They balance themselves. They protect themselves. Anyone who views change merely as a project will repeatedly be surprised by the system.

Traditional management likes to separate things: structure here, culture there, leadership somewhere else. Then individual parts are optimized, and people wonder why the whole system barely changes. What is often overlooked is that this very fragmentation is part of the problem.

Our systemic approach, by contrast, means that we do not look at isolated problems, but at the patterns that create them. We do not first ask, “What is still missing?” but rather, “Which dynamics are neutralizing our intention?” or “Where is impact created and where does it dissipate?” This shapes the way we intervene and with whom.

That changes not only the analysis. It changes the way we work: we do not intervene from the outside.
We create spaces in which the system itself becomes capable of learning.

Change does not prevail because it is good.
It prevails when it finds a place in the system — in relationships,
routines, and feedback loops.

And that is why we do not work for organizations, but with them.

For us, co-creation is not a buzzword, but a conviction: what is developed together belongs to the system and therefore has a very different chance of lasting.

“Truly going deep.” Project ManagerGIZ – German Agency for International Cooperation

“I am grateful that Alexandra guided us and helped us reach a point we would not have reached without her. She created and held a safe space that we needed in order to arrive, through what in retrospect felt like a beautiful curve of tension and release, at our first important shared foundation.”

OUR PRINCIPLES

What guides us.

Six convictions that shape our work — regardless of the project or format.

Systems instead of symptoms

Both–and instead of either–or

Co-creation instead of concept

Observation instead of assumptions

Complexity instead of simplification

Everyday relevance instead of theory

How we work

5 Spaces

process facilitation from within.

Our process framework is based on a core systemic belief: change is not linear, and it cannot simply be “rolled out” from the outside. It emerges when the right conditions are created and when the people who will carry the new are involved from the very beginning.

That is why we do not work with a linear phase plan, but with thinking spaces that each have different qualities and can reappear throughout the course of a process. Clarity about which space is currently needed helps both us and our clients act with focus and intention.

Each space has its own logic, requires different formats, and calls for a different kind of support. Facilitation — the art of creating spaces in which people can think and shape things together — is not just one tool among many. It is our core stance.

01

Safe Space: Orientation before getting started

02

Open Space — exploring possibilities, thinking about the future together

03

Design Space — developing together what will last

Between Space

04

New Space — making the new the new normal

“Clarity, experience, and humor.” Ulrich SchellerClinical Development & Operations, Bayer AG *(already in English)*

“What I primarily associate with Carolin is clarity in communication, experience gained from countless projects, appreciation for people with different opinions, and an incredible sense of humor that can move so much. And only very few people are able to translate complex issues and topics into understandable images so excellently. I am very much looking forward to the next opportunity to work together.”

Questions about

mindset & method

What the systemic approach means in practice.

  • What does “systemic” actually mean in consulting?

Systemic means this: we view an organization as a living system with interactions, patterns, and blind spots. Instead of solving isolated problems, we look at the bigger picture: Why does this problem keep recurring? What in the system makes it possible?

  • What is the difference between both–and and compromise?

A compromise gives both sides something, but not really what they need. Both–and means: we hold both poles at the same time and find the path that does justice to both. This requires more thought, but leads to more sustainable solutions.

  • What are the 5 Spaces and how do they relate to one another?

The 5 Spaces are a process framework for transformation: Safe Space (creating clarity), Open Space (broadening perspectives), Design Space (developing solutions), Between Space (supporting the transition), New Space (anchoring the new). Each space has its own logic and requires different leadership and interventions.

  • Can you work systemically and still deliver clear results?

Yes. This is one of the most common misunderstandings. Systemic does not mean vague. It means: we develop solutions that fit the organization and that the system can sustain. Results that work because they do not work against the system.

  • How is systemic consulting different from coaching?

Coaching focuses on the individual person, their patterns, strengths, and goals. Systemic consulting looks at the interplay: How does the structure influence behavior? How does the culture shape decisions? Often, both are needed, which is why we combine both perspectives.
